In his 13-season NBA career, the Guard has only been ejected thrice, which is not much. He has been a part of some altercations as well. During the 2013 season, the Guard got in trouble after the league deemed he escalated tensions between Warriors’ David Lee and Pacers’ Roy Hibbert.

This happened when Lee and Hibbert were fighting for a rebound following a miss by David West. A frustrated Lee pushed away from the Center with both his stands and then he retaliated. As players got on their way to stop the situation from deteriorating, an angry Steph Curry charged at Hibbert. He did so twice and then multiple players got involved in shoving Hibbert.

The league determined that the sharpshooter worsened the state of the altercation and slapped a $35,000 fine. This incident came when the Warriors were a budding team and the Pacers were also crafting something special.

Apart from this fine, the scoring phenom has been in trouble for throwing his mouthpieces when irritated. The Guard whose mouthpiece has become iconic, doesn’t shy away from throwing it away when things get out of hand.

There have been three incidents where he has thrown a mouthpiece, inviting massive fines.

Steph Curry’s mouthpiece in limelight

The first instance occurred in 2016 when the Warriors played the Cavaliers in the Game 6 Finals. Warriors’ PG became frustrated since they were down by 12 points against the Cavs. His mouthpiece hit a fan, which led to his ejection. This made him pay $25,000. The biggest fine of his career came in 2017 when he threw his mouthpiece at a referee. Down by ten points against the Grizzlies, after a made lay-up, an irritated Curry fumed at the ref and then aimed his mouthpiece at the official.

That action led to the heftiest $50,000 fine, which is the most he has paid. Then another instance of his similar activity also came against the Grizzlies in 2023. Following a missed three-pointer by Jordan Poole, despite being up by two points, the Superstar threw his mouth guard, inviting an ejection. This made for a $25,000 fine.
