Past instances of Donovan Mitchell seeing red
Considering Mitchell agreed to have a “quick fuse”, there have been many instances to prove the same when it comes to playing. For instance, during a match against the Chicago Bulls on March 17, 2022, Mitchell became frustrated with subpar officiating. However, rather than directing his aggression towards the referees, Mitchell aimed it at the Bulls. In a performance of historic significance, Mitchell scored 37 points and dished out five dimes. He set a franchise record (for the Utah Jazz) by scoring 25 points in the 3rd quarter.
Another recent occurrence of Donovan Mitchell losing his composure took place less than a month ago. During a match against the San Antonio Spurs, Spida lashed out at Spurs’ Zach Collins for setting an illegal screen. Replays showed that Collins caught Spida with an elbow while setting the screen.
