The Phoenix Suns have had an underwhelming start to the season. For a team with ambitions of the NBA title, the Suns languish in the play-in spots of the Western Conference. The major reason behind this is that the team has had terrible luck with injuries to key players like Bradley Beal and Devin Booker. Beal has missed most of the Suns’ games due to various recurring injuries.
However, the 30-year-old hopes to return and play for the Suns during the hectic festive period. Beal, a father to three sons, shares a positive update on his injury status, as he seeks to alleviate the frustration experienced by his children.

In a recent interview with Marc J. Spears of Andscape, Beal alluded to the fact that this season has been a little rocky and that he hopes to play during Christmas for the sake of his three sons. He said, “I pray I’m ready for Christmas because my boys love to watch me play. And that’s been another thing that has kind of hit me in the chest this year. My kids are getting older and they’re starting to understand the game a little bit more. They’re understanding when dad plays, when dad doesn’t play. It frustrates them when dad doesn’t play.”

Bradley Beal has faced a string of unfortunate injuries, sidelining him for a total of 22 games due to lower back issues and ankle injuries. Despite the best efforts of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, the Suns have struggled without Beal. They currently occupy the 10th spot in the Western Conference standings, with 14 wins and 14 losses. Their lofty ambitions of winning the NBA title appear to be fading away with each passing game. Can the Phoenix Suns bounce back once Beal returns?

The Suns formed their ‘Big Three’ by acquiring Beal in the offseason. His arrival elevated the expectations of fans, with the Phoenix faithful envisioning the possibility of their first-ever NBA title. However, that couldn’t have been further away from the truth, as the Suns currently sit outside the guaranteed playoff spots. Nevertheless, with a substantial portion of the season remaining, the Suns have ample time to significantly improve their fortunes.
Any team that consists of the likes of KD, Booker, and Beal is always in title contention. But, despite boasting considerable star power, their malaise seems particularly perplexing. Of course, injuries to key players could prove to be their undoing, but the problem lies deeper. The Suns’ lack of depth and quality back-ups have hampered their progress this season. The “big-three” can’t win the coveted Larry O’Brien trophy on their own. They would need a roster with genuine quality and depth, which the Suns currently don’t possess.
