After four straight losses, the Dallas Mavericks finally broke through with a win over the Washington Wizards on Saturday. Now, as Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks come to town, Dallas hopes to build momentum, but it won’t be easy. They’ll need everyone at their best, especially with questions surrounding Anthony Davis, who’s been battling a calf injury and remains uncertain for tonight’s matchup.

Is Anthony Davis playing tonight against the Bucks?

Well, maybe. Although the veteran forward has missed each of his team’s last five games, there’s a chance we might see him in action tonight. This comes as he is being upgraded to questionable before tonight’s game. The Mavericks will finally breathe easy, as they have been clearly struggling to find a rhythm due to injuries to their key players this season, especially AD.

Davis has been the focal point of this Dallas team. After all, despite missing five games, Anthony Davis continues to be the team’s leader in scoring as he has been averaging 20.8 points. Not to mention that he also averaged 8.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists. So, having him back for tonight’s game could be a massive boost. But what if he doesn’t?

Well, then, Naji Marshall would most likely take the Brow’s place within the starting five, which he truly deserves after he erupted for 30 points against Washington on Saturday. Nonetheless, while Anthony Davis remains a game-time decision, there are other players as well on the Mavs’ injury list.

Dallas Mavericks vs Milwaukee Bucks injury reports for tonight’s clash

Apart from Anthony Davis, the Mavericks are hugely missing Kyrie Irving, who is ruled out for almost the entire season due to an ACL injury. Dallas has faced a lot of issues replacing their superstar point guard and has tried almost every possible lineup, but no one is as good as Irving. Meanwhile, the franchise will also be without the likes of Dereck Lively II and Dante Exum. Both players have suffered knee injuries.

However, while Lively II is questionable, Exum has been completely ruled out for tonight’s game. This leaves us with the last player on Dallas’ injury list, which is Daniel Gafford. The 27-year-old forward, who put up eight points and five boards in Saturday’s win, is questionable for tonight’s clash, with an ankle issue.

As for the Bucks, they aren’t nearly as injury-riddled as the Mavs. That’s because they only have two players on their injury report. This includes Taurean Prince and Kevin Porter Jr. Prince is on the sidelines due to a neck strain, whereas Porter Jr. has only recently undergone surgery on his right knee and will be re-evaluated in the coming weeks.

Although both players will be missed by the Bucks, they should be able to hold their ground pretty well without them. With all these injuries, will there be any changes to either team’s starting five, especially with Milwaukee competing in the second leg of a back-to-back?

Game preview and prediction

Both teams enter this game with polar opposite starts to the season. While the Mavericks are 3-7, the Bucks are off to a strong start, boasting a 6-3 season record so far. So, given this and also the fact that Giannis Antetokounmpo is in red-hot form, averaging 33.8 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 6.2 assists, everything points toward a on-road win for Milwaukee.
