Is Kevin Durant the king of clap backs? The 35-year-old got into a spat with a social media troll after a parody account shared fabricated personal details about KD. The parody account NBA Centel posted a list questioning as to why Durant wasn’t involved in a relationship. A social media user who thought that the information was true wrote, “Seek Therapy,” before tagging the NBA star.

However, Kevin Durant’s reaction to the troll has captured the attention of fans worldwide. He wrote, “I won’t call yall that one word, ima just say a lot of yall who believe nba centel is real just lack the mental capacity.” Even NBA Centel, the parody account, reacted to the exchange between KD and the fan by writing, “They will never learn.”

Kevin Durant has garnered a reputation for regularly responding to fans on social media. So it comes as no surprise when he gets into disputes with online trolls. There have been numerous occasions where Durant has swiftly shut down social media trolls. In fact, KD has even publicly called out his former teammate Andre Iguodala for spreading misinformation about him.

During a conversation on the Point Forward podcast, Iguodala revealed that Kevin Durant doesn’t lift weights. He said, “There’s only one flaw in KD’s game and it has nothing to do with basketball. KD’s only flaw is he won’t lift weights.” In response to Iggy’s claims, KD publicly dismissed such rumors by writing, “Now I don’t lift weights, aight man….. these boys say anything on these podcasts.” However, Durant’s eagerness to clap back at trolls has occasionally resulted in negative consequences for him.

Kevin Durant and the Burner account controversy

The mid-2010s was an entertaining time to be an NBA fan. Several teams like the San Antonio Spurs, LeBron-led Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, and the OKC Thunder battled it out for the coveted Larry O’Brien trophy. However, Kevin Durant’s decision to join the 73-9 Warriors in 2016 made them one of the most dominant forces in NBA history. No team could match-up with the Dubs’ star-power.

While KD’s decision to join the Warriors earned him two NBA titles, his legacy was tarnished forever. In fact, for a couple of seasons, Kevin Durant became one of the most hated players in the NBA. He was being targeted by online trolls on a daily basis. Usually, professional athletes ignore such trolls. However, KD isn’t an ordinary athlete. He used a burner account to hit back at social media trolls.

However, Kevin Durant was publicly exposed for using a burner account back in 2017. The revelation of his use of a burner account became public after KD forgot to switch his Twitter account and publicly criticized his former teammate Russell Westbrook using his official Twitter handle. Because of this incident, KD has gained a reputation for being susceptible to criticism or, for a lack of a better word, ‘soft.’ What are your opinions on KD? Let us know in the comments below!
