The All-Star break is over. And the Los Angeles Lakers are ready to take on the remainder of the season and make a run for the playoffs. The Purple and Gold will face the Golden State Warriors tomorrow for their first game after the break. Unfortunately, the Lakers will be extremely shorthanded as several players have been ruled out of tomorrow’s game due to injury.

According to the Lakers injury report, LeBron James will miss the clash against Stephen Curry and Co. due to left ankle peroneal tendinopathy. The lingering injury has bothered LeBron throughout the season. He missed the last Lakers game before the All-Star break against the Utah Jazz because of the same issue. Apart from LeBron, Jarred Vanderbilt (right midfoot sprain), Gabe Vincent (left knee surgery), and Christian Wood (left knee effusion) have also been ruled out of tomorrow’s game. While Vincent and Vanderbilt have been out for the majority of the season, Wood’s absence could cause trouble for Darvin Ham.

To add more concern, Anthony Davis’ status for tomorrow’s game is probable, as he has been dealing with bilateral Achilles tendinopathy and left hip spasm. Young players Max Christie and Cam Reddish might also miss the game as their status is questionable due to a right ankle sprain. After an abysmal run following their in-season tournament win, the Lakers turned things around heading into the All-Star break. They are 6-1 in February and will look to continue their impressive run. However, that will be tough if they play without all these key players.

How concerning is the Lakers Injury Report?

While the Lakers will be extremely shorthanded for tomorrow’s game, the Warriors will go into the game with a fresh energy. Stephen Curry and Co. have found their rhythm recently, going 8-2 in their last 10 games. Steve Kerr has made several changes in the Warriors rotation that have proven highly effective. The Warriors head coach will likely go with the same line-up against the shorthanded Lakers. With LeBron James and several other key players out, the Lakers will need their young players to step up their game.
