The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t have a good day at on the court. Especially, the franchise leader LeBron James had a tough outing, dealing with multiple issues. While the pressure of a massive lead was already mounting on the superstar’s head, Dillon Brooks came in as an added concern. Above all, Brooks had the last laugh in tonight’s game. In response to the brewing rivalry, James ducked it with a two-word response.

Following the game, the reporters surrounded James and fired him with questions. The reporter asked him about Brooks, and how he had lauded the Houston Rockets star for his competitive spirit. James, without moving a muscle, said, “Next Question.”

While James didn’t even hesitate to answer a question related to Brooks, two months back, he heaped praise for the star. Ahead of the Lakers superstar’s first ever clash against the Rockets star in this season, James said Brooks was worthy of his contract. He added, “Every player that is awarded with a contract is awarded for a reason, and they’re worthy of the contract they get.” 

However, the equation between the duo has completely gotten off the track. It seems like Brooks has really poked the bear. During tonight’s game, the 28-year-old dropped a jumper over James in the fourth quarter and he made it a point to rub it on his face. Following the bucket, he taunted the super star with some trash talk as he headed back to defense.

Importantly, Brooks didn’t stop after that, as he followed it up with another ugly act late in the game.

James falls to the ground after Brooks’ swipe

Moments after taunting his way back to the defense corner, he swiped his arm intentionally at James’ face, during his attempt for a rebound. Immediately after the impact, James buried his face on the floor, visibly struggling in pain.

Upon review, the referees called a flagrant foul on Brooks. But James & Co were not happy with the call, as they argued with the officials for a brief moment. Even Anthony Davis went on the record, and expressed his disappointment with the referees for not taking serious action against the Rockets star.
