The Los Angeles Lakers have improved their roster after adding Former Dallas Mavericks Center Christian Wood to the squad. Wood signed a 2-year $5.7 million deal with LeBron James’ team. The 6’10” Center is a solid role player who can play multiple positions and help the Lakers win another NBA championship.

After joining forces with King James and The Brow, Wood revealed his big plans with the Lakers and threw some shade at his former team.

Teaming up with one of the Greatest Players of All Time, Christian Wood has high hopes for his Lakers run. “I have always wanted to be a Laker. I know we can win a championship.” Said the California native in an interview with Andscape. The Los Angeles Lakers made an improbable run to the Western Conference Finals last season with a team that was put together mid-season. With the addition of a career 15-point scorer and a solid rebounder like Christian Wood, the Lakers can elevate to winning a championship.

Wood also revealed that a big reason for him joining LeBron’s team was his connection with Head Coach Darvin Ham. The former Dallas Center worked closely with Coach Ham during their time in Milwaukee. “He believes in me and told me I’ll be playing a big role and knows what I can do.” Added Wood. The Lakers’ new signing also revealed his frustrations with his former team after how Dallas treated him, “I am looking forward to this and Fasure motivated after what Dallas did.” Wood averaged a decent 16.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks playing alongside Luka Doncic. But Dallas decided to cut ties with the center during free agency, leading to him signing with the Lakers.

With a significantly improved roster, LeBron James and Co. are gunning for the title. Rob Pelinka re-signed the breakout stars Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, and D’Angelo Russell after their incredible performances in last season’s playoffs. Apart from re-signing their core players, the Lakers made some genius off-season moves, adding Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, Jaxson Hayes, and Cam Reddish to the squad.

Rob Pelinka has decided to surround their superstar duo of LeBron and AD with highly skilled role players. The Los Angeles Lakers’ new squad is reminiscent of their 2020 championship team, where they had a deep bench that complemented their star players perfectly. With Christian Wood’s skill set, he can start for the team or come off the bench as a backup for Anthony Davis. Considering the injury-prone nature of AD, Wood can take some offensive and defensive load off the 8-time All-Star.

In the end, it all comes down to health for the Los Angeles Lakers. If their star duo stays healthy for the entire season, LeBron James has a legitimate chance at winning his 5th Championship. Christian Wood will also look to elevate his game by playing alongside The Akron Hammer this upcoming season.
