Good news is on it’s way for Luka Doncic. The NBA superstar has been in a long-term relationship with model and influencer Anamaria Goltes. The two first met as kids and later got engaged in July 2023. They share one daughter, Gabriela, who was born on December 1, 2023.

And now, big baby news – Anamaria recently updated fans with a sweet Instagram story, saying her hospital bag is “ready to go.” This could only mean one thing. Baby’s arrival is closer. The news had fans celebrating on X.  As one page posted, “Anamaria on IG has her hospital bag ready 🥰Luka gonna be a daddy again❤️.” The pregnancy was first revealed by Suzy magazine back in October, hinting that little Gabriela may soon become a big sister.

Despite their global fame, the star couple have kept their growing family life intentionally private. The pregnancy announcement was not done by the couple. They do occasionally share glimpses of family life online, but always protect their daughter’s identity by keeping her face hidden in photos.

Luka Dončić and Anamaria Goltes have shared a long, steady love story that began when they first met as kids in Croatia. They have practically been inseparable ever since. It is genuinely rare, to meet someone at 12 and still be building a life with them a decade later. But Luka and Anamaria’s relationship has moved in sync through every phase.

She witnessed his journey in the NBA and has been there with him through the changes. In his own words, the Slovenian star said, “I met her in Croatia in the same camp I go to now. I met her when we were 11. I’m really happy to have her, it’s been great. She helps me a lot. It’s a lot of pressure outside, when I get home it’s no basketball talk. She don’t like basketball, but she goes to every game. She likes it now but she didn’t like it [earlier]. Which is good for me, I really like that.”

Goltes once summed up their bond beautifully in a 2018 Instagram post, writing, “People have [a] best friend, boyfriend, true love. I’m lucky they are all the same person.” Dončić had proposed on July 7, 2023, in a romantic date in Slovenia, while she was pregnant with their daughter Gabriella, who arrived in December of the same year.

Luka couldn’t believe he would be a dad the first time

In a February 2025 interview, just after joining the Lakers, Luka opened up about his own journey to become a father. That too a first-time girl dad. In a hilarious confession, he admitted he could not believe the news at first. As he recalled the moment Anamaria told him she was pregnant: “Funny story ’cause my fiancée told me that on April 1st and I couldn’t really believe it, but it was really true.”

Once it sunk in, everything had changed for him: “That moment changed my life for better. Every day I spend with her it’s just unbelievable. She’s one year and two months. Just seeing her and spending time with my daughter, I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

Luka who is usually in a classic Slovenian poise, spoke with a softness that people rarely see from him. The superstar on the court, added, “Like I said, it changed my life for better. I’m ready for it and I’m gonna enjoy every moment of it. Nothing better than being a dad for real.”

Now, with baby number 2 on the way and a fresh new chapter unfolding in Los Angeles, the Dončić family seems ready to welcome and accept blessings in all forms. Meanwhile, Luka is delivering an MVP-level season with the Lakers. He is averaging roughly 37.1 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 9.1 assists in the 2025-26 regular season.
