Jonathan Kuminga is making waves with his improvement this season. After struggling to get even meaningful minutes in the playoffs last season, his resurgence this time around has been turning heads. The third-year forward has made impressive strides, even earning a spot in the starting lineup, though momentarily, but it’s still huge considering last season. While he has been the talk of the town since the season started, this time he is going viral for a peculiar reason.

His recent actions during the team’s victory against the Boston Celtics left the fans shell-shocked as they stormed the internet with mixed reactions.

The Golden State Warriors improved their winning streak to three after overcoming injuries and foul trouble to clinch a 132-126 OT win. Stephen Curry put the game to sleep with his clutch three-pointer, finishing the game with 33 points. However, what stole the spotlight was their young forward Jonathan Kuminga’s display of a leader in the making. During a play, JK was seen instructing veterans Klay Thompson and Steph on positioning, which ultimately resulted in a monstrous dunk over Jaylen Brown.

This caught the attention of several fans, who were amazed by Kuminga’s confidence and on-court awareness. One fan took to X (formerly Twitter) to point this out. He wrote, “Kuminga really told Klay and Curry what to do” and the NBA world followed suit.

JK leaves the NBA world dumbfounded

His remarkable play also set the trade mill running; as one fan commented, “Lets trade Klay and draymond to put CP3 and Kuminga in the starting five.”

JK’s improved confidence might threaten Draymond’s place on the roster; as one fan suggested, “Draymond gone for sure.”

Another one wrote, “Draymond better count his days if Kuminga doing this lol.”

Some fans also found humour in this situation, pointing out how Klay was so confused that he screened his teammate. He wrote, “Klay really screened his own guy im crying.”
