While some superstars like LeBron James and Nikola Jokić are always the center of attention because of their star power, many fly under the radar despite performing incredibly well. LA Clippers star Paul George exposed the American media bias by highlighting one such underrated rookie who could turn into a superstar very soon.

During the latest episode of Podcast P with Paul George, the Clippers star claimed Houston Rockets rookie Cam Whitmore could be a future star. PG had high praise for the 19-year-old rookie’s game and appreciated his diverse skill set. “I saw stardom on both ends.” PG loved that Whitmore challenged him and Kawhi Leonard during their matchup and did not back down. “He had a nastiness to him that you don’t really see in a lot of super young guys,” PG added.

According to PG, Cam Whitmore is a star in the making and could shake things up in Houston. He is having an incredible rookie season, averaging 12.1 points and 3.9 rebounds. And Whitmore is doing it while playing only 17.8 minutes per game. PG believes Whitmore is not getting any media coverage because he is just a rookie. But that will probably change in the coming seasons. The Rockets have a talented young roster to build around, with stars like Alperen Sengun, Jalen Green, and Cam Whitmore. And they could become a legitimate threat in the Western Conference very soon.

Cam Whitmore could shine in Alperen Sengun’s absence

Cam Whitmore’s rookie season has gone under the radar because of the star power in his draft class. The media has given all their attention and coverage to superstar rookies Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren. But with Alperen Sengun injured and out of action for a significant time, Cam Whitmore could change that. He is likely to get more playing time during the final stretch of the regular season in Sengun’s absence. Whitmore could use this opportunity to take the next leap and solidify his name as one of the best rookies in his draft class.

Whitmore has played only 38 games this season and started only once. He needs more experience and playing time to grab the media’s attention and find his name among other NBA stars. Paul George has high hopes for the 19-year-old rookie, and Whitmore could prove him right by helping the Rockets make a decent run in the remaining 18 games of the regular season.
