Pain and disappointment set over the Milwaukee Bucks tonight. They lost Damian Lillard to an ACL injury, but still never lost hope against Indiana. They led by 20 points in Game 5. Giannis Antetokounmpo posted another impeccable night. However, Tyrese Haliburton’s running layup in overtime ended their season earlier than expected.
The media have started the talks already. The teasing question about the Greek Freak’s future will flood the headlines. It was the fourth straight year it was an earlier-than-expected exit for him and the Bucks. But amidst the feelings of confusion, a little support helps calm the thoughts. And after a hard-fought and mentally taxing series, Antetokounmpo’s wife Mariah Antetokounmpo wrote a note of appreciation for her partner.
“To My Husband, Look at this life you created! We love you μπαμπάς. You make us proud every single day. Your Team,” she shared alongside multiple images of the family, the five the couple has created together.

As soon as the game ended, Tyrese Haliburton‘s father seemed to taunt Antetokounmpo. After security initially restricted him, the Bucks star got a chance to say a few things. They bumped foreheads in a tense moment. Right after that, the entire Bucks and Pacers faction almost broke out into a fight.
Their rivalry, which has amplified over the past few seasons, has officially grown hostile.
For Giannis Antetokounmpo, it was a particularly emotional night. He not only managed to break the Pacers’ defense once again, but also showed his next evolution. He notched up another monstrous triple-double, 30 points, 20 rebounds, and 13 assists while being a behemoth on the defensive end.

Without adequate help due to Lillard’s injury, the two-time MVP and the Bucks left their all on the floor. They would have wished to hang on to their convincing lead. But the postseason plays these games often. For now, Giannis Antetokounmpo will take a few days to heal from the loss and put the season behind him.
But some major decisions might be made or not. Nonetheless, it seems to be the time for him to consider his future, as his will to compete and win hasn’t been fulfilled in the last four years.
