The GOAT debate has shifted from LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Removed from the single-best player of all time, it has gone to position dominance. And tempers flare when such debates occur. This time the NBA fandom is treated to the PG debate between Magic Johnson and Stephen Curry. The debate has been lingering for some years, but Curry gave it further fuel after crowning himself as the best Point Guard ever. Michael Jordan doesn’t believe so.

In this wake, how does Shaquille O’Neal view the whole thing?

The Los Angeles Lakers Great posted a story on his Instagram which redirects to a post by Basketball Forever. The post is captioned Stephen Curry vs Magic Johnson 👀🔥 Let’s settle this once and for all. WHO YOU GOT?”

It goes on to show the accolades of both legendary players, presenting an accomplishment-based overview of the situation. O’Neal doesn’t write anything on the story or comment on the post. Maybe, he is also wondering about the whole debate and is seeking opinions from fans about the whole matter.

However, his former opponent, Michael Jordan, didn’t hold back. After Stephen A. Smith had picked Curry over Johnson, the Chicago Bulls legend sent a text to the ESPN analyst.

He revealed that he “beg to differ” with the analyst. He wrote,” Magic Johnson is easily the best point guard of all-time. Steph Curry is very close but not in front of Magic. You must define point guard to really have a serious debate. Steph Curry is by far the best shooter of all time. Yes, his movement has created many shots for his teammates, he’s a career 43 percent 3-point shooter, but Magic Johnson invented the triple-double.”

He also added,”Not true invented, but makes it more noticeable in terms of the impact on the game. It’s a point guard stat to be honest. Magic is the best. We could go on, but I don’t wanna take up too much of your time. I know you get the point. By the way, Magic has five NBA championships.”.

The debate has gotten attention from MJ himself because of what Curry said.

Stephen Curry sparked a huge controversy

Appearing in Gil’s Arena, the Warriors Guard sparked a big controversy. When asked “Are you the best point guard ever?”, the All-Time Three-Points leader confidently replied, “Yes, it’s me and Magic. That’s the conversation?”

Since the claims come from Steph himself, the attention to it has been high profile. MJ weighing it means a lot because for someone who keeps such a low profile to text someone, shows the intensity of the debate.
