Nikola Jokic has brought a revolution to the NBA. After murmurs of big men dying a slow death, he nabbed a championship as the Finals MVP. He has become one of the best if not the best player in the first half of this decade. Thanks to him, the Denver Nuggets, which could never dream of a title, got over the line. However, he couldn’t have done that by himself, of course. He needed whatever help he could get and turn around the Franchise. Those who helped are stars in their own rights and have built great recognition.

One of these prominent NBA stars has been in the spotlight regularly during the offseason.

Since this is the offseason, many NBA athletes catch up on their favorite sports. Football has a special place among many NBA players. Josh Hart’s commitment to Chelsea has been well-established. Apart from that, Giannis Antetokounmpo is a huge supporter of Arsenal.  Meanwhile, Nikola Jokic’s stellar scorer teammate Jamal Murray has his heart set on football too. To bring the point home, he recently did an on-court interview with Overtime.

USA Today via Reuters

The interviewer challenged Murray to shoot 5 triples while answering questions about the UEFA Champions League. To win the challenge, he had to make at least three treys and also answer three questions correctly. He casually nails the first jumper, and has to answer, “Who won the Champions League last season?” Out of the options, Inter Milan and Man City, he correctly chooses Man City.

After Murray easily nails the second jumper, the interviewer asks, “Who has the most runners-up in UCL history?”. Between the options, Barcelona and Juventus, Murray incorrectly picks Barcelona. He completes the shooting challenge by nailing his third attempt, too. And then he is asked, ”Who had the most goals in UCL last season?”. Between Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland, an excited Murray says, “Messi, Messi, Messi”.

The Guard made another jumper and had to answer, ”How many teams are in the Group Stage?”. Between 32 and 36, the sharpshooter correctly chooses 32. Then he had to answer the last question. After nailing another jumper, the football enthusiast had to answer, ”Where is the Champions League Finals in 2024?”. Without even asking for options, the scoring phenom correctly states “England”.

The interview is over at this point, but the shooting star, nonetheless, nails one more jumper for fun. Such fun has become a regular part of the life of this superstar who appeared in Jack Harlow’s music video “Denver”.
