Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry is currently spending some time on the bench due to illness. The 37-year-old has missed three straight games as he seems to be taking his time to return to the hardwood. However, that hasn’t stopped him and his teammate Jimmy Butler from making a surprising announcement on Monday.

The four-time NBA champion and his teammate used Instagram to announce their partnership with Google for their latest Pixel 10’s ad campaign. Both Curry and Butler posted carousels on their respective Instagram accounts featuring the actual advertisement and some behind-the-scenes cuts, which were honestly quite hilarious.
One of the most notable of which was a video in which Curry is walking on the set casually, before getting caught off guard by his teammate Jimmy Butler. In the video, Curry is walking casually before spotting Jimmy Butler sitting on a barber’s chair, donning a bob. While there’s nothing about Butler trying new hairstyles, it was the fact that Steph just wasn’t expecting him to be there, especially with a fancy haircut.

Nonetheless, apart from the hilarious bits, this promotion campaign also showcased utmost creativity, making full use of both superstars’ polar opposite career trajectories. On the one hand, Google made a bold claim of swaying away even the most loyal people through its Pixel 10, which fit perfectly with Stephen Curry, whose name is synonymous with loyalty.
“I get it, it’s hard to change. Me? I’m pretty loyal. I’ve been on the same team for 17 years. Same coach for 11. Never switched my number once. Every day I take the same 50 swings. What can I say? I’m loyal to a fault,” Curry says in the clip. “I start every warmup with a pass from the same guy. And I shoot from the same spot. So you can imagine how good something has to be for me to change.”

On the other hand, they claimed to be the best fit for people who crave constant change and are outspoken, similar to, of course, Jimmy Butler. Now that’s how you plan an ad campaign. Nonetheless, while it was refreshing to see both the veteran stars having a great time off court and enjoying their life, it seems like more good news is on its way.

The Warriors get a major Stephen Curry update before the OKC clash
Well, while Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is having a great time off the court, it seems his time on the sidelines is nearing an end. That’s because all signs are pointing toward him making his much-awaited return to the hardwood after a three-game hiatus. While Curry’s status was upgraded to questionable before his team’s clash with the Pacers, he did not suit up as a precaution.
However, after his team’s blowout 114-83 win over Indy, head coach Steve Kerr confirmed that the veteran sharpshooter will be available for Tuesday’s high-stakes game against the reigning NBA champions. “We’re expecting Steph to be back Tuesday,” Kerr told NBA reporter Anthony Slater. This is massive news for the Dubs, who will be embarking on a 6-game road trip starting with their visit to Oklahoma City.

So far, Stephen Curry has been the main guy for the Warriors this season, averaging 26.8 points along with 3.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Now with him back in the mix, Golden State can expect a positive result from Tuesday’s game. More so, with Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green also being available for this huge clash, which has been a rarity for the team this season.

However, despite this, the Dubs still could be without a couple of their players as they hit the road. This includes the likes of Alex Toohey and De’Anthony Melton, both of whom are yet to step on the court this season. Nonetheless, these absences will be the least of Golden State’s concerns as they’ll be thrilled to have Curry back, that too, for such an exciting game.
