The Lakers superstar, LeBron James, spent little to almost negligible time on the court tonight. Injuries have taken the best of him of late, prompting questions on his retirement. Before the All-Star Game 2024 began, James pondered over the thought and said he has little time left on the hardwood floor, still unsure when he’s going to retire, but still knows he will soon enough.

During the post-game press conference, James said, “I’m trying to give everything I have to the game until I have nothing left… it’s just about the pure joy of playing a game that I love.”

And now, following in the footsteps of King James, it is Stephen Curry who is answering retirement questions! Point blank, extremely confident, this is what Curry said: “I think about it all the time. But those thoughts stop because you gotta get ready for the next game. There’s a routine and a cycle. You embrace the now. Eventually, you’ll get to a point where you wake up and whatever your body is telling you, or if your mind is telling you, it’s time. But I don’t think I’m anywhere close to that.”

He straight-up negated all the retirement plans people thought he might have. And, like he mentioned during the 2023 off season, the Dubs superstar is currently in his prime year. He said, “I still feel like I’m in the prime of my career, in a sense of what I’m able to accomplish,” in an interview with PBS.

Most importantly, the numbers don’t lie as well. Steph has recorded an exceptional average of 30.2 points so far in the month of February alone. And, by the looks of the Warriors’ current stretch, the Baby-faced Assassin looks far from backing down from his hot spree.

Comparing their regular season, both superstars didn’t seem to make much impact in the All-Star game.

King James stepped onto the court with a historical record tied to him. Most All-Star appearances in the NBA history (20). Similarly, Stephen Curry, who is days away from turning 36, came in after an eventful Saturday night. He went on to win an All-Star event named after him.

Despite the hype surrounding the superstars, they didn’t spend much time on the court. James only played 14 minutes, dropping only 8 points. Meanwhile, on the other hand, Curry, who came off the bench, dropped 16 points in his 26-minute stay.
