As the Valley of the Sun is getting ready to face the Brooklyn Nets, the spotlight is on Kevin Durant. He is having a homecoming of sorts at the Barclays Stadium as the 14x All-Star was part of the Nets for three seasons. Due to that, the Nets fans wanted to make a tribute video for Durant to show him their love and respect. However, KD was not at all intrigued by that because he thought he did not deserve it.

Durant stated his doubts about having a tribute video, saying, “What did I do to deserve that? Seriously, or is it because of my name?” The NBA star downplayed his importance and emphasized that the game is about everyone on the field, not just him. He even went on to give an explanation about why he thinks a video is not necessary for him, saying, “I didn’t feel like I stayed there long enough. I didn’t put in enough work. I didn’t leave a lasting impact. Me and the fans didn’t connect enough for me to feel like a part of them.”

At the same time, when the 2x NBA champion returned to the Chase Center to face another of his former teams early this season, the Golden State Warriors honored him with a tribute video. KD even received standing ovations from all the fans and players in the arena, and he did not seem to mind it. Durant played a similar timeframe of three seasons with the Dubs as well. Maybe because he won both of his championships with the Warriors, he has a special with the Dubs fans? This brings us to the question, did he not accomplish anything in Brooklyn?

However, KD admits that he had some great moments with the Nets throughout his 4 seasons.
