The Denver Nuggets had a dreadful flashback as Jamal Murray walked back to the locker room during their clash with the Knicks. The defending champions, who were amidst a dominant stretch, adorn deep concerns ahead of the playoffs. For, the team’s star guard has had a history of injuries that have crippled the team’s chance at the ring in the past. The instance today poses a similar threat with mere days on the calendar for the playoffs.
During tonight’s game, with less than a minute left for a comfortable win, Murray rolled his left ankle and expressed extreme discomfort. Nevertheless, the point guard managed to walk toward the locker room by himself, offering hope. And a while later, a report suggested that the injury did not seem serious.

With less than a minute left in the game, the Nuggets were ahead of the NY Knicks with a comfortable 12-point lead. In the moment Jamal Murray collected a defensive rebound and rushed back to his offense corner, which was immediately contested by Knicks’ Donte DiVincenzo and Josh Hart. In the attempt to dribble past the defenders, Murray rolled his ankle and fell on the floor in grave pain.
Despite that, the Nuggets continued with the play and dropped a bucket. The HC Michael Malone called a timeout soon after and rushed to the guard to check on him. Fortunately, the star got back on his feet and tried to walk it off at the courtside. However, the medical team escorted him to the locker room.

So far into the season, Jamal Murray has missed a total of 16 games, courtesy of multiple injuries to his legs. While the intensity of his recent injury remains unknown, it has sure alerted the Nuggets who look to tread carefully toward their second consecutive title. More so, with a continued pace they haven’t forgone, going 113-100 against the Knicks.
Jamal Murray to help the Nuggets retain the title?
The 27-year-old has begun from where he left off in the last season. Jamal Murray returned to the Nuggets 2022-23 fold after missing the entire 2021-22 season due to an ACL tear. His return acted as the catalyst for Denver to win their first-ever NBA championship. Alongside Nikola Jokic‘s dominance on the court, he played a trusted second fiddle, averaging 20 points in the regular season.

Moreover, he doubled it down in the postseason, averaging 26.1 points with 7 assists to take the ring away from the Miami Heat. This season, Murray has produced a similar effort, averaging 20.9 points with 6.7 assists.
