James Harden has been quite uncooperative and stubborn toward the 76ers leading up to the regular season. If we trace the roots of these behaviors, it leads us to the MVP wanting a trade from the Sixers. Well, Harden hasn’t got what he wanted and ever since, he has been mostly MIA from the team during practice as well as the preseason matches.

After missing the final preseason match, Harden was back with the Sixers again but there was uncertainty regarding his participation in the Sixers’ season-opening game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. It was expected that Harden would travel to Milwaukee with the team, but won’t be playing the opening game. However, with each passing moment, there are more developments in the James Harden saga.

NBA Insider’s Chris Haynes himself shared the news that Harden will be traveling with the Sixers to Milwaukee, but he has recently retracted his statement and shared a post on X saying, “James Harden will not travel with the team to Milwaukee today, sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport. He will remain in Philadelphia to continue his ramp up.

Harden reported back to the Sixers on Tuesday to set sail for Milwaukee after missing for about ten days. But it appears that the team will be keeping him back in Philadelphia to compensate for lost time in practice. Well, it looks like Harden will have to work those steps and deal with his underlying turmoil at the same time while his teammates are away playing for the team.

Harden was in Houston during team practice

James Harden had made it clear that he wants out of the Sixers and his preferred destination was the Clippers. Although the Clippers were also interested in ‘The Beard’ Harden, they weren’t overly desperate to have him on board. Since his demand to get out of the Sixers did not come to fruition, he has been pulling off antics and being difficult.

Fans were in for a shock when they saw Harden in Houston instead of practicing with teammates in Philadelphia. It was unsure whether he would show up for the opening night against the Bucks. Well, it looks like Harden won’t be available for the fixture instead ramping up for the rest of the campaign. He will definitely have to make up for the lost time and shape up for the season before anything else.
