The Los Angeles Lakers had one of the worst starts to the season last year. Yet, the team managed to beat numerous odds to make it to the Western Conference Finals. Now, a lot of that credit may go to the star players on the team. But there is one unsung hero who has been deserving of more credit lately.

LeBron James is looking to add another ring to his collection to make it five. And with this person’s moves off the court, building a brilliant $166.5 million the fans could not help but appreciate and applaud him for his efforts.

It seems as if Lakers fans have been privy to a very high standard since the start. It is either win a championship or a bust, regardless of how their season turns out to be. And this upcoming season, the team may have a chance at glory once again.

No doubt the team has two of the best players in the league on their roster. But some of the moves that their executive Rob Pelinka has made during last season and this offseason have been nothing short of amazing.

The team made some big free-agent signings this offseason and the latest addition to the roster has been Christian Wood. Wood had an amazing peak during his time with the Houston Rockets but teams have not utilized his full potential since then.

After signing Wood to a two-year $2.7 million deal, fans are all praises about Pelinka and the moves he has made. You could say that Rob Pelinka turned the worst cap situation into the best in just 8 months.

A recent tweet has been making the rounds of social media displaying all the Lakers’ players’ contracts. And more importantly, how Pelinka managed to not only turn things around but also free up cap space to sign another star to the team.

One fan on X posted, “A good salary structure is conducive to another championship.”

While another fan said, “Total cap hit $166.56m equates to luxury tax of only $3.16m for this team. Rob should be exec of year!”
