The outrageous style of living that Dennis Rodman had either sat well with a few or it just didn?t. Rodman?s eccentric personality wasn?t everyone?s cup of tea. The multiple piercings, multi-colored hair, and flamboyant dressing sense were just the first few things people saw when they get looked over at Dennis Rodman. As much of a standout as he was, Rodman sure did love to party.

So much so that he managed to get the police on his doorstep in 2001. Dennis Rodman threw a party at his place on Seashore Drive, Newport Beach. The party consisted of 200 guests and Rodman ended up greeting them by arriving in a helicopter.

‘The Worm’ had two rock bands perform at his party while the guests enjoyed drinks. And before the party could really take its form, the police, who were in all-riot gear along with reporters outside his doorstep, crashed it.

The police had received numerous complaints about the noise at Rodman?s party. It was Dennis Rodman?s 40th birthday, and he decided to not only give a grand party but also make a grand entrance with a helicopter as well.

In 2001, Rodman had the police at his doorstep 50 times due to noise complaints and had been fined $8,500 along with 14 Disturbance Advisory Cards. They charged Rodman with three misdemeanors and he faced 18 months in prison. Also, not to mention the $3000 fine as well.

Rodman moved to Newport Beach back in 1996 to enjoy the beach, and the sea breeze, and also to kick it back with his friends. But his neighbors were not happy with the 6?7 NBA player as their neighbor.

Apparently, American actor John Wayne used to live there as well. And neighbors loved how quiet and quaint he was while living beachside. Rodman, on the other hand, was a different breed altogether.

He said, ?That’s right, John Wayne came here and didn’t move a bone. I’m different, I like to make a contribution, I like to light the place up a little. It’s a great place, Newport Beach. The people are laid back, they moved here so they can enjoy themselves and – you’ve been to the club – now they can! All the complainers, they’re just jealous and miserable. Come on, this is the beach. People go to the beach to have fun.?

As much of a valid point Rodman had, that did not stop the police to interrupt his celebrations every now and then.
