Six feet isn’t an average height in the NBA. Consider this: the average height in the NBA is six feet six-seven inches! In the NBA, we see rare athletes, and watching a seven-footer is nothing out-of-the-ordinary. One such seven-footer who dominated the league was Shaquille O’Neal, who has often been called a Giant. In comparison, Jimmy Butler is about the average height of the league. One important thing to note is that the NBA revised its height parameters for accuracy back in 2019.

So, what happens when Butler is next to the Big Aristotle? The results are amusing.

The Heat Forward measured at six feet eight inches till 2019 but that changed after the new rule. He is now officially listed as six feet seven inches. These heights are without shoes and earlier, their heights were measured in shoes. The loss of one inch still makes Jimmy Butler much bigger than a person with average height. This can be seen when the two-time Finalist is next to one of the best biggies to play the game.

In the video below, we can see Butler hugging Shaquille O’Neal. Interestingly, he still looks huge. These two hugged after Butler and the Miami Heat beat the Boston Celtics in Game 7. This Heat got into the NBA Finals after the win. In terms of a frame of reference, Shaq is seven feet one inch tall and weighs over 340 pounds. In comparison, the versatile Forward is around 230 pounds.
