A recent video went viral where 3rd-grade children playing basketball could be seen taunting and celebrating like NBA players. However, the video was perceived differently when it came out. Many commented on the post about how these children seemed out of control or over the top. Notably, Brooklyn Nets’ star Kevin Durant seemed to come to their aid through his social media, drawing in a storm of online reactions from fans as well.

Kevin Durant shared the video posted by Overtime. The video was captioned, “These 3rd graders acting different,” with a laughing emoji at the end, but Kevin Durant surely did not see it that way.

One fan tweeted, “Basketball is ruined because 3rd graders are having a lot of fun playing it.”

Here are some more reactions from NBA Twitter:

While many agreed with Durant and did not object to kids having fun, others still had an opinion about it.

The Brooklyn Nets without KD

Kevin Durant has been sidelined from the team’s starting lineup for about a month. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Durant was diagnosed with an isolated MCL sprain to his right knee after a collision with Jimmy Butler during their game against the Miami Heat.

However, the Nets have seemingly taken a huge dip in almost every aspect since Durant’s injury. They have lost their last four games without KD in the starting lineup. Furthermore, the team has gone dead last in offensive rating, ranking at 30.
