Over the years, the NBA has attempted numerous ways to expand the league to a bigger audience. Amidst all of the efforts, many wealthy stakeholders, including the legends of the game, have been fascinated by the idea of owning a team in the NBA, not only for business purposes but also for bragging rights. For example, NBA legend Michael Jordan owns the Charlotte Hornets, even though the team hasn’t been able to taste much success since its inception. With rumors of LeBron James joining the owners’ table in the NBA, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s former teammate isn’t quite sure of the 37-year-old’s odds of success.

King James’ future at the NBA might entail owning a team in the league. While his fans might be excited about it, former Milwaukee Bucks star Brandon Jennings predicts a similar outcome for James like Jordan with the Hornets.

Michael Jordan hasn’t exactly fared well as the owner of an NBA team. The Charlotte Hornets have failed to achieve much playoff success since Jordan’s acquisition. Safe to say, some people are hence skeptical of the league legends taking the reins of an NBA team.

LeBron James’ recent interest in owning an NBA team in the future raised the eyebrows of Brandon Jennings. The former teammate of Giannis Antetokounmpo seemed unsure of the potential move. A recent report on the issue cited Jennings’ POV on the issue, “Jennings seems to think that LeBron James won’t be great at it either and it is really rare to see great players transition well to decision-making roles in the NBA. A lot of them don’t have much success as head coaches or general managers, with Jerry West and Larry Bird being some of the exceptions.
