Incidentally, lightning seems to be striking in the same place twice. A couple of years ago, James Harden made a shock exit from the Houston Rockets. He joined the Brooklyn Nets, in the hope to win the championship that has eluded him for so very long. However, that dream has not been possible yet. And now, reports claim that ‘The Beard’ is on his way out of Brooklyn, with a potential move to the Philadelphia 76ers on the cards.

The 76ers are performing well under the leadership of Joel Embiid this year. In the absence of Ben Simmons, however, the experienced guard slot is yet to be filled. For multiple days now, Brooklyn’s sudden loss of form has raised questions over Harden’s continuation with the franchise. If not, several sources claim that Doc Rivers’ side is keen on snatching the 32-year-old. However, Nets general manager Sean Marks seems to have put an end to the saga.

As earlier reported by the reliable Shams Charania, the Sixers are keen on pursuing a trade for Harden, to gain a potent guard. With 10 All-Star appearances, James is a valuable asset to any setup. According to the same report, Brooklyn was also open to discussing a potential deal. On the contrary, a massive update has emerged, which pretty much puts an end to the questions.

ESPN claims that 76ers President Daryl Morey reached out to Nets GM Sean Marks last month. The duo discussed several topics, and eventually addressed the Harden deal. Morey apparently kicked it off with a “What about James?” When Marks asked about which James he was referring to, Morey made him aware of his intentions. To this, Marks dropped a massive bomb with a firm “No.”
