Days After Reportedly Beating Jeff Bezos in $6,000,000,000 NFL Race, 5x NBA Champion Magic Johnson Reveals “Super Bowl” Ambitions
Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder is looking to sell his three-time Super Bowl champion franchise. While sizeable offers were made by famous personalities like Magic Johnson, Jeff Bezos was reportedly benched from the bidding event (per The Athletic). According to reports, Snyder seemed averse to the idea of selling the team to Bezos due to the Washington Post’s (owned by Bezos) alleged negative coverage of the franchise. As Magic Johnson leaves behind Bezos in the bidding war, the five-time NBA champion recently revealed why he wants to own the NFL team.
The Los Angeles Lakers legend entered the bidding war by joining hands with Josh Harris’ group. This is the same group with whom the 12-time All-Star had unsuccessfully tried to buy another NFL franchise, the Denver Broncos, last summer. So, it will be interesting to see if they can secure the deal this time. For now, it seems that the former Lakers legend has got the competitive edge.
