Stephen Curry remains one of the most valuable stars in the NBA. His achievements in the NBA have cemented his name into the All-Time greats of the league and have also brought him worldwide fame. He often receives plaudits from former NBA players, fans, and analysts of the game. A former NBA champion recently snubbed Curry for another young NBA star.
Hosts of the ‘ALL THE SMOKE’ podcast asked former NBA star Kendrick Perkins to pick his best NBA starting five. Perkins shockingly left out Curry while picking his starting point guard for his team. Instead of Curry, he controversially picked Memphis Grizzlies star, Ja Morant, while mentioning the qualities that he would add to his championship-winning team.
Perkins said, “So I’m building the team to win with superstars. My point guard, I need somebody to be a threat at the basket. I’m going with Ja Morant. Yeah, my point guard, damn right.”

Ja Morant started his NBA career in 2019. The Grizzlies picked Morant as their second overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. His first season in the NBA wound up with him winning the NBA Rookie of the Year award and earning an NBA All-Rookie First Team honor.
