The seven-time All-Star’s father, Charles Antetokounmpo died of a heart attack in September 2017. So it has been a long time since his father passed away. Therefore, the Greek Freak decided to spill some beans on what tough conditions he experienced growing up with his father.

Antetokounmpo appeared on The Daily Show recently to have a chat with guest host Hassan Minaj. During the conversation, the Bucks forward spoke about his family and how he grew up. He said, “I wouldn’t be in this position that I’ve seen today without my family… without the sacrifice that my parents made every single day to provide for us…”
The 28-year-old continued, “Obviously, it’s been six years now, 2017 – six years that my dad have passed away, and it’s in honor of him. And as I’ve said in the past and I’ve said a lot of times, he had no money, he was poor.”
