The story of the Brooklyn Nets and Kevin Durant went in all possible directions. What started as a surprise trade request quickly turned into a saga. Teams were relentlessly trying to make something happen and land the 12-time All-Star. On the other hand, Brooklyn held their stand and set up a sky-high price tag on Durant.

However, there were also attempts to make amends. The first time around made a KD exit look inevitable. The Slim Reaper sent across an ultimatum to choose between him and the coaching staff. After weeks of reports and stories, there finally seems to be an end.

The Nets and KD agreed to move ahead with their deal. But amid all the action, the four-time scoring champion has been silent. Likewise, a reporter called him out for his lack of communication. However, he ran into a Kevin Durant who was ready to go for the kill.

After Patrick Beverley spoke about Durant’s situation with the Nets, Hicks wanted to add on. Taking to Twitter, he defended his fellow media friends who have recently been under Durant’s wrath. However, the former MVP rarely spares anyone online. Likewise, he had a savage reply ready to go for Hicks. The Slim Reaper said: “I don’t have to explain myself to Jordan hicks. Who are u again?”

Durant has arguably been opposed to the media for the longest time. Moreover, his Twitter antics go a long way. Hence, this attack wasn’t a surprise to many. However, he didn’t stop at just one. Durant continued his onslaught on Hicks. In a since-deleted tweet, he said the reporter is acting desperate for attention.

While the battle between Durant and the media will probably be never-ending, the Slim Reaper now has another contest to focus on.

What does the Slim Reaper’s return mean for the Brooklyn Nets?

The biggest off-season target for the Nets was undoubtedly securing the services of their franchise cornerstone. At 33, KD is still one of the most elite offensive players in the NBA. Coming off a near 30-point season, his motors are still running fresh. Moreover, with trade talks for Kyrie Irving freezing up, he will likely have a reliable scoring partner on his side.

While this duo has hardly played together over a consistent period of time, the potential is through the roofs. Arguably, a pair of two unique scorers is scary enough. However, Brooklyn has another big mystery with them, and that is Ben Simmons.

At 6’10” he is one of the most versatile defenders in the league. Ranking as one of the best, he can take any assignment without much trouble.
