Shaquille O’Neal was arguably one of the most dominant players NBA has ever seen. Be his explosive pace or impeccable ball handling skills, Shaq was by far the best player, regardless of which court he played in.
‘Diesel‘ might be ruthless as a player, but there was one aspect where he lacked- a decent jump-shot. In his 19 seasons in the NBA, ‘Shaq Fu’ attempted only 22 three pointers, scoring a single triple.
But there is no stopping Shaq now. In a recent Instagram post, the 15-time All-Star dished a three pointer on the sets of TNT. Shaq wrote, “Who said I can’t play in today’s league, yea right im the big Steph Curry“

Despite missing a jump shot, O’Neal dominated the league with his physical prowess and post up skills. It is outright scary to imagine how good a prime Shaq with a jump shot would have been.
Which current player in the NBA can be the new Shaquille O’Neal?
Since his retirement from the NBA, the league hasn’t seen a dominant force like Shaquille O’Neal. The 7’0″ center was a juggernaut on the court and could force his way to the basket at will.
But sophomore Zion Williamson might be the perfect answer for that. The 20-year-old forward similar to Shaq is one of the fastest men on the court and has rocked the league with his dominance on the court.

In a recent match against the Jazz, Zion absolutely torched DPOY favorite Rudy Gobert as he scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a five point win against the red-hot Jazz.
Even Shaq approves of the 20-year-old. In a recent appearance at the Rich Eisen show, the 4-time NBA champion was all-praises for Zion. He said, “Yeah, they are starting to play big. Especially Zion, I like the way he plays. He plays bully ball.”

The progress he has shown in his 57-game NBA career is absolutely staggering. If Zion continues to develop his game, we might be seeing an all-round player with the dominance of Shaq, which in theory sounds outright scary.
