From allowing players to draft their teams for the All-Star event to having a new scoring system in these games. These innovations make the game more interesting. But it looks like one of basketball’s present superstars and the future face of the league wants this particular thing back.

In 2014, for a game between Miami Heat and the Brooklyn Nets, players were allowed to wear a jersey with their nicknames on their back.

The Grizzlies have slowly but steadily built a contender which will compete in Western Conference for years to come. Led by superstar point guard Ja Morant, they are an upcoming team built on solid foundations. They have drafted well in the past four drafts, often drafting players who exceed their draft status. They have a young coach and front office, which is willing to learn and take risks. This year was the one where the Grizzlies announced themselves to the league.

In the playoffs, they defeated the Timberwolves in the first round. Against the more experienced Warriors in the second round, they went out in six games. But they had injuries concerns which affected their performance.
