Kyle Lowry’s Choice Words on Recently Concluded Season Irritate Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler Fans

After a first-round exit in the 2021 playoffs, the Miami Heat made it to the third round this year. Jimmy Butler shined in the postseason with spectacular performances. Apart from Jimmy, fans were expecting to see something from Kyle Lowry. Kyle is 35-years-old and his game seems to be going downhill.

This was Lowry’s first season in Miami and according to him, it didn’t go well. The Heat topped the Eastern Conference with a record of 53-29. It was a great season for this championship contender team, though they couldn’t win it all. Lowry was extremely upset with this season.

This postseason, Butler averaged 27 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, dropping four 40 bombs with two of them against the Boston Celtics. Whereas Lowry put up 7 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists. Lowry had some words after losing the Conference Finals saying, “It was a wasted year. If you’re not playing for a championship, it’s a waste of a year.”

While this is just how his mentality is, fans took to Twitter to question his regular season and postseason performance. Kyle is a veteran and also a scorer, though no one has seen the scoring part from Lowry since the last few seasons. Kyle was a key player on the 2019 championship team, Toronto Raptors. He averaged over 17 points during his time in Canada.

Though this postseason, he was well below his playoff averages. Lowry knows championship basketball and has a tough mindset when it comes to winning. His comment had fans reply with all sorts of comments, reminding him of his stats and his previous championship run with the Raptors.

Kyle Lowry is a forgotten scorer

Lowry had risen his game in Toronto right after he joined the team. His peak couple seasons had his averages go up by a lot. A few years later, alongside Kawhi Leonard, Lowry won his first ring. This year he was not as bad on the offensive end till the playoffs.

In his prime, Lowry averaged over 40% from outside and was one of the primary scorers for the Raptors. While this season was not a great year for Kyle, it will be interesting to see how he will try and help Miami go for yet another championship run next season.
