After Jeanie Buss and co. gave him an experienced squad to work with, Vogel has made some interesting decisions throughout the season. Surprisingly, he has often played lineups that occupy massive amounts of floor space. The likes of Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis, who were expected to headline the men in yellow, have been far from consistent. The sole bright spot has been the ageless LeBron James. Citing some nervous energy, Vogel has now openly called out Westbrook after LA’s latest loss.

In spite of their poor outings, 37-year-old James reassured fans that the Lakers would do better. He refused to play the blame game, and upheld that the entire setup needs to improve. However, the gaffer has made an indirect statement that will contradict what LeBron said. Evidently disappointed as the 2020 champions slipped to a 22-23 record, Russ was put in the line of fire. Averaging a touch over 18 points this year, the pressure is well and truly on the 33-year-old guard.

Even against Indians, the #0 seemed like a shadow of himself. He managed only 14 points on the night and missed some crucial shots from open play. As a result, Frank was forced to bench Westbrook for the last few minutes, which caused a huge uproar. Asked about the same after the encounter, the coach replied, “[I was] Playing the guys I thought would win the game.”
