LeBron James Gets Emotional and Breaks Silence as America Mourns Saddening Takeoff News: “Still Doesn’t Feel Real..”

Earlier this week, the news of the unfortunate and sudden demise of renowned rapper Takeoff devastated everybody. NBA champion LeBron James was one of the many who mourned the artist’s death. LeBron James confessed that he had been listening to Migos from very early on. He recalled how he would keep playing their music in the locker room. He also extended his condolences to Kirshnik Khari Ball, a.k.a. Takeoff’s family.

LeBron James took to Instagram and conveyed his condolences. He began the tribute by saying if anybody knew him, they would know how much he loved the Migos rapper. A week after learning about the tragic incident still hasn’t helped him in digesting the news. “Still doesn’t feel real to me! Rest in Paradise Rocket Man” he wrote with a sad emoji.

On Tuesday, Takeoff was at a private party at a bowling alley in Houston. He was shot twice after an altercation and was declared dead at the scene. Takeoff was just 28 years old.

Migos had dropped a video for their second single, ‘Messy’, just a day before the tragedy.

Ahead of the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron shared a post that featured both him and Takeoff. Both of them wore black suits and shades, and a diamond-encrusted piece. He also changed his profile picture on Instagram to Takeoff’s photo. Offset did the same as well.

The heartfelt message reverberated throughout the masses. The hip-hop scene that Takeoff was part of had a close family connection. He was part of the group Migos, alongside his cousin Offset and uncle Quavo. The latter was also present at the time of his death. Though Quavo tried to get help, it was in vain. For those who knew and loved him and his music, this week has been heartbreaking.

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers subsequently lost their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The final score was 100-114. James ended the night with 27 points, while Anthony Davis scored 19 points and 12 rebounds. It wasn’t enough, however, as Donovan Mitchell scored 33 points for the Cavs.

The Lakers are now 2-7 for the season so far, while the Cavs have an 8-1 record.
