Fans got their money’s worth in Los Angeles with a battle for the ages. The Dallas Mavericks led by Luka Doncic got the better of the hometown team, the Los Angeles Lakers. It was a physical back and forth which went into double overtime. The game had several flashes of brilliance from either side. However, towards the end, things got a little chippy between the two star point guards of the opposing teams. Notably, Russell Westbrook and Doncic got face to face in a heated exchange after Brodie committed a hard foul on the Slovenian maestro.

The Lakers managed to complete a trademark comeback heading into the fourth quarter. Down by 16 at one point, the purple and gold cut the deficit to single digits. The energy and atmosphere in the building elevated in the clutch moments. Becoming a hero off the bench, Westbrook had a stellar game. His offense was hitting home for LA. Moreover, his pitbull-like defense kept the ball out of Doncic’s hands for most of the fourth quarter.

He committed a flagrant foul giving Luka Doncic a shoulder push. Likewise, the Mavericks superstar rose up straight away and the two indulged in a verbal spat on the court.
