To everyone’s surprise, the LA Clippers are keeping their position at the top of the Western Conference intact. They have a 16-5 record with the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz, sometimes stealing the first position as well. However, the Clippers and Lakers have this unsaid rivalry that makes this competitive tussle to be at the top more interesting. And then there is Skip Bayless, who leaves no opportunity to criticize LeBron James.

During the preseason, the Clippers played terribly against the Lakers. They lost both the scheduled games and one with a whopping score of 131- 106. But after the regular season began, they have only met once, and the Clippers crushed the LeBron-led Lakers with a 116-109 victory.

That’s exactly what Skip Bayless did. On Twitter, he wrote, “Kawhi Leonard is making 91% of his free throws (78-86). LeBron is making 71% of his (85-120), up from 69% last yr and 67% the yr before. How can you call yourself the GOAT when you’re such a lousy FT shooter??? Think of the thousands of points he has cost his team over 18 yrs.”

Lakers or Clippers?

Before beating their other long-time rivals, the Boston Celtics, the Lakers were going through a bit of a rough patch. They were leading the West before they lost to the Philadelphia 76ers, who are leading in the East. And then came their disappointing loss against a team like the Detroit Pistons.

The Clippers, on the other hand, are on a three-game winning streak, after defeating the Knicks, Magic, and Miami Heat. With a lot of the season still left, it is tough to pick which team will eventually beat the other. But the face-off won’t be anything less than a war, that’s for sure.
