A year ago, an underdog in the Miami Heat knocked out the Milwaukee Bucks in the bubble. In those days, the cry was loud that Giannis Antetokounmpo must take his services to a better franchise or he might never win a title. Well, the Freak has come a long way ever since and is now a win away from putting his critics to sleep.
Giannis, playing in his career’s sixth postseason, has always faced criticism for not being an exceptional playoff name. But whatever be the result from here onwards, no NBA analyst would dare to call out the man for all he has done in the NBA Finals.

Giannis Antetokounmpo joins the league legends in a record
In Game 5, the Greek Freak scored 32 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists with 60.9% accuracy from the field. This score becomes ever more important given that the Bucks’ leader had only 12 points in the first half. In fact, 12 of those points came in the decisive quarter and that made all the difference.
One other thing really exceptional about his performance was the zero turnovers. This is one figure that Chris Paul is used to delivering but this time around it was the Freak and it bought him a place in the history books.

On top of that, Giannis continued his clutch abilities from Game 4 and proved that his contribution is never a fluke. His game-winning block from the last game was still afresh in the memory when he converted a late alley-oop to help Bucks take a victorious lead.

What were some flaws in the game of the Milwaukee Bucks’ leader?
Giannis Antetokounmpo found the wrong side of the rim on a clutch FT with seconds remaining in the game. As the commentators later agreed, the attempt was so poor that it was tough for the Bucks to gain a rebound off it. He closed the night with a poor free throw percentage of 36.4%.

Also, the 26-YO went -7 on plus/minus, proving that the night was surely not his best. Ironically enough, one must not count his 0/1 from the downtown as a negative because it was actually good he did not waste attempts with potential air balls.
Additionally, the 2x MVP could not grab a steal or block unlike his characteristic play and instead depended upon Bobby Portis and Jrue Holiday to get the business.

However, all said and done, he could still score 30+ and help his team when they needed him the most. So he deserves all the respect and there’s no one taking that away from him. Period.
