NBA Analyst Explains Why Age is Merely a Number For LeBron James and the Lakers

The league favorites Los Angeles Lakers have been busy lately, stacking their roster for the next season. Free agency was particularly interesting for the 2020 champions. However, concerns hover over LeBron James and co. building a veteran-aged lineup.
This summer, the Lakers front office has welcomed a long list of superstars to the team. However, a pattern of experience and age is being analyzed by many pundits. Carmelo Anthony (37), Dwight Howard (35), Russell Westbrook (32), Trevor Ariza (36), Wayne Ellington (33), and Kent Bazemore (32) are six new additions to the roster with the age of 32 years and more.
Adding to the list are the existing members, LeBron James (36), and Marc Gasol (36) who recently announced his resumption of contract. Well, that seems like a full house for the banner franchise.

A flurry of netizen comments has taken over social media emphasizing the ‘older’ aspect for Lakers. But how far is it a problematic situation for this star-studded group?
NBA analyst hushes comments on LeBron James and Lakers ‘age’ factor
Marc J. Spears, an NBA analyst and writer for ‘The Undefeated’, has dismissed these erupting doubts. He told ESPN – “I’m not worried about this team.” This roster on paper could turn out to be the oldest team in NBA history. However, Marc suggests that age is just a number and nothing beyond that.
He added – “I think a lot of the guys that they had outside of Westbrook, how much are they gonna be playing? Like 10 or maybe 25 minutes a game…So, I don’t think that their age will matter but their experience certainly will matter…I know there are all these memes and people making fun of it, but age is nothing but a number for this team. I think they’re going to be just fine.”
