NBA fans know who the all-time leader in three-pointers is. None other than Stephen Curry. But fans are not going gaga over that. In fact, it is Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James passing up on a Boston Celtics rival in the all-time three-pointers list. ‘King James’ passed up none other than Paul ‘The Truth’ Pierce.

James has arguably been an above-average three-point shooter from the start. He can drain big threes in close games and also hit it from way beyond the arc now. But his game relies more on slashing and finishing around the rim.

LeBron James has extensively worked on his jumper

However, since he came into the league, he has worked extensively on his shooting. James, now into his 20th season in the league, sure is a knockdown shooter from the midrange. He can be categorized as a shot creator who knows how to create space between himself and the defender to get an easy jumper.

James is pretty good in the post as well. His turn-around fadeaway jumper is almost sure to go down if he gets his feet under him. And over the years, he has really put in the work on his three-point shooting. James started shooting substantially more threes after his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers from the Miami Heat.

As age plays a factor, LeBron James prepared himself beforehand that his athleticism will drop down eventually. At 37 years of age, we have arguably yet to see a decline in his athleticism though. He can still run up and down the floor with ease. And every now and then, he will give fans a monster dunk to obsess about and replay in the highlight reels.

But as of now, fans are in a state of frenzy as they see one of their favorite players pass up one of the great small forwards of the game. One fan commented, “Notice how MJ isn’t top 10.” Referring to Michael Jordan not being in the top 10 for most three-pointers in history.

Here are some of the reactions from NBA Twitter:

LeBron just might pass up two players in one night

Now with Bron passing up Pierce in the all-time three-pointers list, Damian Lillard and James are awfully close on the list. Currently, Lillard is only one three-pointer ahead of James but you can be sure to see them going back and forth on the list throughout the season.
