However, the Nuggets seem to be testing the waters in the trade market leading up to the NBA trade deadline. According to a report by the Denver Post, the top brass in Denver are gauging the value of second-year forward Bones Hyland. As per Mike Singer, the Nuggets are taking calls from around the league in an attempt to flip Hyland for more.

Singer’s sources have reported that they are seeking two-way players on the same level as Hyland with a similar contract. Moreover, they believe they have traction on potentially acquiring a first-round pick through pick compensation. The young forward is currently on his rookie deal and is expected to make over $6.4 million over the next two years.

The Nuggets drafted Hyland in the 2021 NBA draft with the 26th overall pick. In his rookie year, Hyland bagged an All-rookie selection with impressive numbers across the board. However, the 22-year-old has taken his game to the next level this season. He is currently averaging 12.3 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. Moreover, he is shooting over 38% of his shots beyond the arc.
