“Redefining Father Time”: Kevin Garnett, Pau Gasol, and Magic Johnson Left in Awe of LeBron James After Lakers vs Hawks

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James seems to be defying all odds and proving his critics wrong this season. James just turned 38 and he did so in style, scoring 47 points to take down the Atlanta Hawks in what was a memorable performance. His unreal showing drew the attention of many NBA players and even legends who went on to social media to congratulate ‘The King’. This list included one his past critics as well.

The amount of criticism hurled towards LeBron James and the Lakers has been absolutely ruthless recently. Fans and analysts have been questioning James and his ability to play at a high level given his age. The poor record of the LA side hasn’t been helping the narrative against him as well.

‘The King’ seemed to have taken all the criticism a bit personally, because he proceeded to make a statement on his birthday. James ended the night nearly notching a triple-double for the game in a season-high performance.

Many NBA players and legends went on Twitter to congratulate ‘The King’ for his amazing performance and to wish him well on his birthday as well.

Lakers legend Magic Johnson tweeted, “LeBron James put on a show for his birthday scoring 47 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists in the Lakers 130-121 victory over the Hawks!”

Meanwhile, another Lakers champion Pau Gasol tweeted, “Happy 38th birthday @KingJames That’s how you celebrate it!! Big time game and big time win!”

Kevin Garnett, former Celtics legend who frequently clashed with LeBron during his time in the NBA, couldn’t help but be impressed by the Lakers superstar’s performance. KG tweeted, “LeBron getting the same 30 point triple doubles at 38 as he did at 18 is some crazy ish. Redefining Father Time.”

Even Kendrick Perkins joined the crowd in congratulating James by tweeting, “Happy MF birthday @KingJames ! You musta Uber Eats that combination plate from Magic City? Because we know you ain’t go  47 piece lemon pepper,10 and 9? That’s how you celebrate another year around the sun! Carry on…”

Everyone was amazed by James’ scoring output in a game to give the shorthanded Lakers a win on his birthday. The brilliant showing on birthday would probably silence Bron’s critics for a while. But the Lakers would need to pull themselves out of their current hole to put a stop on all the chatter.

It is a well-known fact that one of the biggest critics of LeBron James and his accomplishments is NBA analyst Skip Bayless. However, even Skip Bayless could not hide his admiration for James’ brilliant performance in the victory.

He tweeted, “CONGRATS, LEBRON, ON YOUR BEST GAME OF THE YEAR BY FAR. 47/10/9! ROCKY START, SENSATIONAL EXPLOSION. NO CAPELLA, SO YOU WERE THE BIGGEST GUY ON THE FLOOR AND DID YOU EVER TAKE ADVANTAGE. WHAT A FINISH. EVERYBODY FOLLOWED AND CONTRIBUTED. NO REASON TO “GIVE UP” ON THE SEASON, BRON.”

Though it’s possible that the namedrop of Clint Capella was bit of low blow. 
But it’s still dub, since this might be the finest thing Skip Bayless has said about James in long time.
