The late designer Karl Lagerfeld was honored in last night’s Met Gala and many famous faces including the Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade and his wife Gabrielle Union attended it in New York. The couple attended the Met Gala many times in the past but perhaps never looked as gorgeous as last night. As expected, they grabbed the reporter’s attention and were interviewed which, in turn, prompted Union to make an amusing revelation related to her kids.

Wade has five kids: Zaire (21), Zaya (15), Xavier (9), Kaavia James (4) and Dahveon Morris (22). He shares his eldest son Zaire and eldest daughter Zaya with his ex-wife Siovaughn Funches and younger son Xavier with Aja Metoyer. Kaavia is his younger daughter whom he shares with his current wife Union. And Morris is his nephew who was adopted by him in 2011. Union recently said what her and the Heat’s legend kids think about them.

Gabrielle Union spills some beans about her and Dwyane Wade’s kids

Since the legendary designer was the honoree at the fashion’s biggest night, many A-list attendees wore dresses designed by him to commemorate him. Wade and Union wore a Prada outfit, mimicking the signatures embraced by the late designer in his own wardrobe. The three-time champion went all black, rocking a cape coat over his leather button-up vest paired with black trousers and boots. The Bring It On actor, on the other hand, went all red, donning a long trench coat. The duo complimented each other very well.

A reporter complimented the 50-year-old by saying they always look amazing and asked her a couple of questions. One question was what does her and Wade’s kids think about them when they come to attend the Gala every year. The Heat legend’s wife replied, “That we do the most. Our kids think we are so extra and I’m glad because I thought my parents didn’t do enough.”

According to the couple’s kids, their parents are always over the top. However, she was absolutely fine with this response as she thought her parents only did the least for her.

Union is undoubtedly a great mom despite being her and Wade’s kids except for Kaavia’s stepmother. However, she wasn’t able to build a relationship with them, especially with Zaya, quickly.

Union once revealed it took a lot of time to establish a relationship with daughter Zaya

In a 2022 interview with People, the 50-year-old said as a stepmother, she thought it wasn’t her job to push herself in her elder daughter’s life. The Heat legend’s wife added, “So time has allowed our bond to grow organically and naturally. Being consistent with each other and being trustworthy with each other also.”
