Steph Curry and Wife Ayesha Curry Show Their Big Hearts Yet Again

The boy from Davidson college is now a 3-time NBA champion – Stephen Curry. Now, he wishes to give back to the institution from where it all started for him. Steph and his wife Ayesha Curry have launched a well-thought Curry Family Women’s Athletics Initiative for Davidson’s women athletes. This scholarship fund aims to empower and benefit them in their basketball career.

Stephen Curry spent three years (2006-09) in his early days at Davidson College. During that span, Curry averaged 25.3 points for his team while shooting 41.2% from the three-point line. He also led the Davidson Wildcats to Elite 8 after scoring 33 points in the advancing match. Thereafter, with early success in hand, Steph was named the NCAA scoring leader in his junior year.

Now that the Warriors superstar has made his mark in the league, he feels it’s time to give back. In his recent social media post, Stephen Curry launched the initiative and said – “I never forget where I came from.”

The Currys stand by Davidson college women athletes

Steph and Ayesha have contributed an undisclosed sum to the fund. It aims at the idea of equity in women’s athletics and building opportunities for them. Curry mentioned his intent behind this decision through the message. “The reason I am who I am today is also because of strong and powerful women that have poured into my life all these years. And now as the father to two girls, I want them to grow up without any boundaries on their futures.”

The power couple has taken an advantageous step towards women’s empowerment through the scholarship fund. And now Steph is rooting even more for the Wildcats.

After starting his basketball college career at Davidson, Steph is a 2-time NBA MVP, 7-time NBA All-star, 2-time scoring leader, and one of the best shooters in the league. He continues to surprise his fans with his agility and dominance.
