However, Curry stated that he hopes to be a “one-team guy”. He claimed that he wants to pull the curtains on his NBA career while still being a part of the Golden State Warriors. He expressed that the list of NBA players who have stayed with one team all through their careers is short. So for Curry, it would be special to be a part of this list.

Having said that, Curry is aware of the league’s nature. In his words, the NBA is a fickle league because, at the drop of a hat, things can change. So his aim right now is to simply live in the moment.

Curry’s goal

His father Dell Curry spent 16 years in the league. Unlike Curry, Dell spent his time playing for 5 different teams. With that said, Stephen Curry stated that he wants to play in the league longer than his father did. This has been one of his goals for a long time.

Curry is on the verge of achieving this goal. His contract with the Golden State Warriors extends till 2026. This means that by then, Curry would have spent 17 years in the league. For Curry, the time has flown by rather quickly. Curry said, “16 years, when I was a rookie felt like an eternity. Then you go through all these different seasons and look up, you are in year 14.

He mentioned that when he reaches the 16th year of playing in the NBA, it would be special to hug his dad and say “That was the goal, I made it.” Having said that, he hopes to remain healthy and play ball as long as he can.
