Rodman said, “I think when I went to Chicago, that’s a great story though. That’s when Gregg Popovich was the GM, he didn’t like me at all. I wasn’t the church-going guy, David Robinson called me “The Devil”. I said, you didn’t pay me to be f**king nice. You pay me to f**king win. “

He added, “Popovich wanted me to get out of there so bad, so he traded me to Chicago for Will Perdue straight up. Here’s your sh*t, get the f*ck out.” 

While the Spurs lost out on a great asset, the Chicago Bulls pulled off one of the biggest steals ever. Rodman turned out to be a beast for the team as he helped the Bulls get 3 NBA titles.

How good were Rodman and Michael Jordan?

Dennis Rodman was one of the most essential parts of the Chicago roster. While Michael Jordan focused on scoring, Rodman handled the defense and did all the dirty work. They had a top 10 defense and offense each season the two played with each other.

Rodman averaged 5.2 points, 15.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 199 games in the Bulls with Jordan. On the other hand, Jordan averaged 29.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in 199 games with Rodman.
