Stephen Curry is responsible for hitting some of the most iconic buzzer-beaters. Arguably the greatest three-point marksman, his range is unlimited. Likewise, as long as there is time on the clock, Curry almost always finds a way. Sometimes, that includes near-impossible shots way beyond half-court, However, tonight, a man in a Memphis Grizzlies jersey seemed to have stolen the Baby Face Assassin’s power, and his name is Ja Morant. The early season MVP candidate hit an insane buzzer-beater to end the first half against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Over the past two seasons, Morant has taken a major leap putting his name alongside some of the best players in the league. Unlocking new weapons every season, he is one of the most exciting talents to watch. Ja Morant channels inner Stephen Curry
Just when the NBA universe thought Morant couldn’t shock them anymore, he did it in a rather grand fashion. The scores were all level with barely a second left on the shot clock. The Grizzlies All-Star point guard was hovering at center court with no chance of advancing any further. Likewise, he had only one option, to shoot. Despite not having Zion Williamson, the Pelicans roared back in the second half to win comfortably. After a series of bad games, CJ McCollum stepped up to lead the way. The former Trail Blazer finished with 30 points and 9 assists in the 113-102 win. Moreover, Brandon Ingram supported the veteran scorer with 19 points of his own. Larry Nance Jr. took another leap asserting himself as an effective sixth man for the Pelicans scoring 19 points on 8-10 shooting.

On the other hand, Ja Morant missed his right hand, Desmond Bane in tonight’s matchup. The Memphis Grizzlies All-Star put up 36 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists all while grabbing 3 steals. Dillion Brooks and Brandon Clarke combined to pour in 34 points in the losing effort as Memphis suffered their fifth road loss of the season.
However, the game made one thing clear, Morant is arguably one of the top point guards in the NBA. His offensive arsenal is terrifying for any opposition. Moreover, his agility and quickness make him an interception threat. With the pace of his improvement, his sights seem to be on being the best.
