LeBron James is arguably one of the top players in the league. While an average NBA star’s career fizzles out in about 15 years, it is simply astonishing to see LBJ still dominating in year 18.
Averaging more than 25 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds, James has been the testament to consistency and is undoubtedly one of the most durable players in the league.

Given that he has already played for 18 years in the NBA, LBJ has faced off against players from multiple generations. Be it superstars from the 2000s like Shaquille O’Neal or the ‘Black Mamba’ Kobe Bryant, LBJ has had fierce battles against the best of their respective generations.
In a recent appearance at the Shop, the 36-year-old lamented in his career. “You know you’re getting older when you’ve played against a dad and a son. Like I’m now in the part of my career where I’ve played against the junior and the senior.”

“Gary Trent Sr., Gary Trent Jr. Kenyon Martin Sr., Kenyon Martin Jr.? So yeah, I’m playing against seniors and juniors now. Wow, I get to a third. I swear. At this point I am in some Tom Brady s**t then. I am playing against the third?”
It is absolutely astounding to see a player dominating the league for such a long time. The fact that ‘King James‘ is still the finest player in one of the best teams in the league speaks volumes about how dedicated the 36-year-old really is towards the game and getting the best out of his impeccable physique.
Are we finally seeing the downfall of King James?
There is no doubting the greatness of LeBron James. In the first fifteen years in the league, LBJ hadn’t suffered from any massive injury and looked like a machine. But in the last three years, the 36-year-old is finally looking like a mortal.

In his first year with the Lakers, in the middle of a playoff push. LeBron had a terrible groin injury and missed the rest of the season. But in the second year of his Lakers’ stint, the 17-time All-Star looked indestructible yet again and led the Purple & Gold to championship glory.
This season, the 36-year-old was one of the favorites to become the MVP, but he suffered from yet another devastating injury as he had a freaky high ankle sprain. Missing over 25 games, LBJ was still a great player upon his return but did not have the same athleticism.
