“Trae [Young] Got His Glasses Knocked Off”: Colliding With 284 Lbs Zion Williamson Leaves NBA Fans as Stunned as Hawks’ Star

The Atlanta Hawks faced the New Orleans Pelicans in their last matchup. The game was a thriller for fans as it ended in overtime. And the Hawks barely scraped by with the win, the final score was 124-121. The Pelicans seemed to be at full strength after the return of Brandon Ingram from injury. Even though the game was something to watch, fans couldn’t help but notice an incident involving Trae Young and Zion Williamson.  

The Atlanta Hawks’ record for the season is now 6-3. Whereas the Pelicans’ season record is 5-4 now after this game.

Trae Young vs Zion Williamson

However, the highlight of the game for fans was Trae Young colliding into a 284 lbs Zion Williamson. Trae Young wore goggles for the game against the New Orleans Pelicans. During the overtime period, Young was guarded by Williamson. He sized up Zion and drove to the rim, throwing up a lob pass for Clint Capela.

And while on his way back, Young ended up colliding with Williamson which led to Young’s goggles getting knocked off. And Williamson did not even move an inch. Fans just could not get enough of it after the video went viral online.

One fan tweeted, “Trae got his glasses knocked off and Zion didn’t even move.” Another fan commented on the post saying, “Young fella going to have neck problems if he keeps running in walls like that.”

Zion Williamson certainly has a heavy-set physique. He is able to bully players in the paint with his sheer strength and athleticism. Trae Young on the other hand arguably relies on his ball handling and shooting to get the upper hand.

Trae Young had a fantastic game as he ended the night with 34 points and 10 assists. He had an off night from beyond the arc though, as he shot 2-9 from three. Dejounte Murray was the second-leading scorer with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists, notching a triple-double.

But the big story for the Hawks was Clint Capela who almost had a 20-20 game. Capela scored 21 points and 19 rebounds. He notched up 4 blocks to go along with it as well.

The New Orleans Pelicans finally got one of their key contributors back for the game. Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum led the team with 29 points each. And Brandon Ingram had 16 points while shooting 7-23 from the field.
