Los Angeles Lakers veteran Lamar Odom recently made a touching display of appreciation for a young blogger. His gesture surely won him a few more fans.

Odom exited the NBA about a decade ago after failing to find a team to sign with, having become a free agent in 2013. Since then, Odom has played briefly in the EuroLeague and attempted to make a comeback with the New York Knicks only to get waived by the franchise in 2014. Evidently, he hasn’t forgotten what it is to be an aspiring basketballer.

Talented hooper gets noticed by Lamar Odom

An aspiring baller recently caught the attention of former Laker Lamar Odom on Instagram. Nkwain Kennedy is a blogger and a skilled basketball player who hails from Cameroon. He is known for posting videos of his hustles with motivating captions. Some of them show Kennedy training with frayed shoes and a clearly overused basketball. Odom was impressed with Kennedy’s skills and decided to send a little something to the young hooper as a token of his appreciation.

Odom contacted Kennedy through social media to ask for information that he needed. Odom asked for his shoe size and address and put together a care package for Kennedy. The goodies box reportedly included two Wilsons basketballs, Nike socks, Reebok Allen Iverson shoes and Nike Giannis Antetokounmpo shoes.
