With the 2022 NBA All-Star selections out, there have certainly been some expected entrants, as well as some newbies. The likes of Ja Morant and Andrew Wiggins made their first appearance, while several big names missed out. Among these entities, was Lakers guard Russell Westbrook. According to head coach Frank Vogel, however, the likes of Westbrook and Anthony Davis deserved to make the team.

Every year, the top-performing players are voted for, in order to play in the highly viewed All-Star game. King LeBron James has 18 appearances, while the likes of Morant will be making their debut. In spite of LA struggling this year, James has gathered massive praise for his performances. However, Frank Vogel feels that the likes of Russ and AD missed out due to the team’s position in the standings. NBA fans, on the other hand, didn’t really approve of this opinion.

NBA Twitter baffled as Frank Vogel makes bold Russell Westbrook claim
Ever since the beginning of the Lakers‘ slump, coach Vogel’s position has been under threat. Yet, he has managed to hold onto his post thus far. In a recent interview, the 48-year-old was asked about only one of his players making the big list. In response, he claimed, “It’s a little surprising. I think obviously we feel like those guys should be on there.” Later, he continued that it was “probably more indicative of our win-loss record.”

Contrary to what Vogel had to say, NBA fans rubbished his claims. For a long time now, a section of buffs wants LA to get rid of Westbrook, who is averaging under 20 this year. Bashing the coach for his statement, one fan said, “Vogel drunk.” Meanwhile, someone else commented, “Delusional.” Here are the best reactions.
